Our Heritage is built on Family.
For over 40 years, the Darwent family and our long-standing staff have cared for residents as if they were part of our own family. Established in 1986 by Colin and Jean Darwent, Albion Lodge is now run by their son Andrew and his wife, Sarah.
The hone itself Is a period residence set in two acres of lawns and gardens close to the centre of the small village of Hanley Swan in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside. We are well supported by our local surgery, district nurses, chiropodists, physiotherapists and a visiting hairdresser

Residents can explore using resin bonded paths covering four acres of grounds, including formal gardens and lawns, as well as wildflower meadows, perfect for enjoying nature in every season.
We take great pride in our home-cooked meals and daily afternoon tea with homemade cakes.
Our dedicated team is at the heart of everything we do. With over 200 years of combined service, our long-standing staff provide continuity, familiarity, and genuine companionship to every resident.
Life at Albion Lodge is enriched by a wide range of activities and facilities. From exercise classes, Tai Chi, church services, quizzes and arts and crafts, there is always something to enjoy.
Our home also offers a variety of spaces including a gym, library, lounge, cinema room, and music area with a piano for live entertainment.
Albion Meadows
Opened in 2025, Albion Meadows is our sister development, located right beside Albion Lodge. It offers one and two-bedroom apartments for over-55s who want independent living with the reassurance of support nearby.
With a warm community spirit and a relaxed village lifestyle, residents enjoy their own space while staying closely connected to the Albion Lodge family—making any future care needs easy and familiar.
